Spotlight on the Primrose Modest Wedding Dress

The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress is one of the brand new styles for the Spring 2011 season. I have already been told by many people that the Primrose Modest Wedding Dress is their new favorite Abigail Wright Designs wedding dress, and I have to say it's right up there as one of mine too! There are so many great things about this dress, where do I begin?! Well first of all-- it looks good on everyone, no matter what shape or size you are. Not to toot my own horn... but, I'm very happy with how this dress turned out! The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress has some very classic and elegant features which will sweep you off your feet. The scoop neckline is open enough to feel comfortable in without being overly revealing, and the cap sleeves are a great length for all seasons, but they are not so short that you have to be concerned about garments hanging out. The bodice of course includes boning and bra cups to help perfect your shape. The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress has a long sash at the natural waistline, and has a full ball gown skirt with a chapel length train. The dress is made of dutchess satin with an embroidered tulle overlay which gives it a very romantic, dreamy feel. The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress is shown in Light Ivory with a Champagne colored sash. The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress is available in white, ivory & light ivory (shown). Sizes 2-28. 6 - 8 week standard delivery. The Primrose Modest Wedding Dress is priced at $799, and is available for purchase online here.

New Year, New Styles

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season, I know I did! It sounds like many of you received a special sparkly gift- 'Tis the season for engagements: congrats new brides to be! Come visit my studio to checkout my styles in person- there are also many different unique variations of dresses that are not on the website; you can set up an appointment by e-mailing me at abigail@abigailwrightdesigns.com or call (801)810-5379.

New styles will be in next week! I expect these to be the best styles yet, and I think they will meet your approval :) Here's what you can expect to see in the new styles: new short tea length modest wedding dresses, new short tea length lace modest wedding dresses, cap sleeve modest wedding dresses, mermaid style modest wedding dresses, a-line modest wedding dresses just to name a few... I should have photos of the new styles online sometime in January. If any of you are local though, I'd love to have you preview the dresses at my studio! Call or e-mail me to set up an appointment.

One last thing: I am looking for a model for some of my modest wedding dresses. I'm looking for someone who is about a size 12 (Bust: 39 Waist: 30 Hips: 42), the taller the better. If you fit this description, or know someone who does, (and are in the Salt Lake area) please shoot me an e-mail with pictures and measurements.

Happy New Year!

Happy Holidays... and about the American Music Awards 2010

On our way to the Red Carpet
I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had a whirlwind past couple of weeks filled with travel, family, and one particularly exciting event... the American Music Awards! So, I will fill you in on some of the highlights of our awards weekend.

Our first event of the weekend was to watch the rehearsal for the show. It was so fun to see how the show comes together from behind the scenes. We watched Katy Perry rehearse for about an hour, and I'm pretty sure I could sing her Fireworks song backwards and forwards after that :) We also watched Train rehearsing Soul Sister.

The next event was the American Music Awards 2010 kickoff party which was a bowling event for charity. I had relatively low expectations for this especially because I am pretty much the world's worst bowler, no kidding... I was on a team with Lance Bass from NSYNC, so I got to hang out with him for a few hours, and it ended up being REALLY fun! I was in good company with my lack of bowling skills, but no one cared, we were just having a good time. My husband was on the bowling team with Michael Welch who played Mike Newton in the Twilight series of movies.
That's Lance Bass giving me a high five... most likely for not knocking down any pins.

Finally the big event! We walked the red carpet and loved every minute of it (except the COLD weather!!). We were able to see most of the big names on the red carpet, but unfortunately it became so crowded that it was hard to see who was around us. I found this especially funny as I was looking through pictures from the red carpet and noticed that my husband took a picture of me with Heidi Klum and the Black Eyed Peas were in the background literally right behind us but I didn't even realize it at the time because it was so crowded!

The show was AMAZING!!!! We were in the 3rd row-- such awesome seats! The energy was great, the performances were great; what an experience! To be able to witness up close the talent that some of these performers have just blew me away. I have to say I wasn't really into Justin Bieber before-- I thought his Baby song was cute and that's about it. Well, after seeing his performance, I think I caught the Bieber Fever-- what a talented kid! I was a little bit disappointed with Taylor Swift's performance... I guess I expected more. One of my favorite performances of the night would be the finale-- NKOTBSB (New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys). Part of what made this a favorite for me was the energy of the crowd-- practically everyone was standing up singing and dancing along to their blend of songs.

I know I have left alot out, but this is the brief synopsis of our experience at the American Music Awards 2010-- SOO fun!!

Back from New York and Catching Up

It's been a little while since I've posted last... sorry! The contest is officially on... brides, why aren't more of you entering?! Especially those who have already purchased a dress from me during the contest-- you could get it for free! :) Well, there are still a few more months to go... maybe there are some procrastinators in the group?!

We just returned from New York and had a fantastic time! We did some shopping, got a little R&R and attended an Esquire Magazine party which was really quite the experience. Yes, we saw some famous faces- the beautiful Minka Kelly and her Yankees boyfriend Derek Jeter, and Chris Tucker to name a few. Incidentally, as we got off the elevator to go to our hotel room, Chris Tucker got off at the same time and was staying in the room right next to us. Ok, so we were dorks and asked him to take a picture with us- Chris was really friendly and chatted with us briefly. Unfortunately the picture of me with Chris Tucker is kind of blurry :(
